Validating indentiy on a wireless network

It is recommended that you use the auto configuration wizard to configure your wireless device.

If the auto configuration wizard does not work or you chose to configure your device yourself the following guide and certificates are provided to assist you in configuring your wireless device.

Students will need to use their "@edu" e - mail password. UNL ID password will only work if it is the same as your e - mail ID password . If you do not choose to validate the server certificate your connection will not be secure.

The certificate will be from the Radius Server "is - edge - edu".

The Root Certificate Authority or "Root CA" is 'Add Trust External CA Root.cer' .

Right click the Wireless Network Connection icon on the Taskbar. d) Check to select Start this connection automatically.

Click Manually connects to a wireless network, then click next. Under Information for the wireless network you want to add a) Enter miis into the Network name field.

Uncheck Varify the server’s identity by validating the certificate, then click the Configure button. Make sure the Automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain if any) checkbox is unchecked.

Check Specify Authentication mode and choose User Authentication.

Click OK to close miis Wireless Network properties.

Enter your username and password (same as your email account). The username should be “MIDD\your_username”(MIDD\tsmith for example) You should now be connected to the miis network!
